Introduction
At TAATU, we attach great importance to the confidentiality of the Personal Data that you have communicated to us. The purpose of this document is to inform you of the practices applied by TAATU as regards information, the type of data that TAATU is likely to collect and store, the way in which these data are used and with whom they are shared. It also explains what you must do to contact us if you have any questions to ask or any concerns regarding your Personal Data.
Please read carefully the information below in order to become familiar with the terms of our privacy policy on the Internet. Please note that this site and the servers that permit its use are based in Belgium. By using this site, you accept that it will transfer, collect, process and use the data.
By Personal Data we mean any data concerning a person and that allow this person to be identified; this may be your name, your age, your telephone number or your postal or electronic address (“Personal Data”).
If you are under 18 years of age, you must check with your parents or guardians that they have no objection for you to become a member of TAATU. You must also ask them to explain to you any term or expression in the present Privacy Policy that you do not understand. In any case, TAATU does not request or store any personal information on adolescents under the age of 18 years without the agreement of a parent or a legal guardian, with the exception of certain circumstances authorised by law and described in this information.
By ticking the box "Yes, I have read the Conditions of Use, the Privacy Policy and the TAATU attitude, and I hereby accept them" at the time of your registration, you agree that we can collect, store and process your Personal Data confidentially, in accordance with the present Privacy Policy and with the legal provisions applicable in Belgium. We undertake to ensure a high level of security and respect for all the Personal Data that you may communicate to us.
1. Your agreement
TAATU supplies you with its services subject to your unconditional agreement to the terms, conditions and notices contained in the present Privacy Policy that TAATU will be free to modify at any time. You are therefore advised to refer regularly to the latest version of the Privacy Policy that is available at all times on the website www.taatu.com. Your use of this website constitutes your agreement to the said terms, conditions and notices.
In addition, the use of certain services of TAATU may require compliance with additional and specific rules or guidelines which will be indicated in a charter or a set of rules that can be consulted on the site. These rules and guidelines are deemed to form an integral part of the Privacy Policy.
You also undertake to comply with the “General Conditions”, codes of conduct, practices and rules of behaviour which are set out on the TAATU website.
2. Collection and processing of data
The primary purpose of the collection of Personal Data is to offer you an efficient and personalised service that meets your needs and helps you to use our services easier and more quickly.
In general, you can browse the website without having to disclose your identity or supply us with any information. To use certain services, you must nevertheless fill in an on-line registration form in which you must provide us with your particulars as well as any other personal information as indicated in the different forms at different places on the site. For each information field, we will indicate whether it must be completed or if, on the contrary, the information is optional.
Some information, such as your age, is posted by the other users of the TAATU website.
You can at all times refuse to transmit any information to us by choosing not to use the service or function for which this information is required.
Under certain conditions, TAATU can request additional Personal Data in the form of photocopies of identity documents or credit cards, for example to check your identity or as a means of preventing fraud. Insofar as such additional information is transmitted to TAATU, such information shall also be considered as Personal Data.
3. Use of data and subsequent processing
If you convey to us your Personal Data, we will store them in TAATU files and process them in order to:
- fulfil our obligations arising from the sale and purchase contracts or any other contract concluded between TAATU and yourself.
- manage your account and inform you of our activities when they may concern you.
- allow you to send e-mails to your TAATU friends without your full particulars being disclosed to them.
- facilitate and process your searches and requests for information on TAATU, its products and its services.
- supply you with the latest information concerning the products and services offered by TAATU and its partners, including the special offers and services that may be of interest to you.
- improve for you the products and services offered by TAATU.
- get your opinion on the products and services offered by TAATU and carry out surveys among the public.
- organise tombolas, competitions and other promotional offers.
- communicate with TAATU partners.
Therefore, we do not disclose, share or sell any personally identifiable information about you such as your first name, family name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, mobile telephone number or fax number without your consent or without you knowing the purpose of the operation.
By supplying us with your personal data, you grant us express authorisation to process this information for the purposes indicated above and declared to the Commission de la Protection de la Vie Privée (Privacy Commission).
In addition to the information contained in the file that concerns you, we will use the information we have obtained about you from your present and past activities on the website to resolve any disputes, to settle any problems and to have our General Conditions of Use applied. If necessary, we can make comparisons between several users to identify then resolve the problems, in particular by using your data to identify users operating with several identities or pseudonyms.
4. Discussion forums
TAATU places at your disposal discussion areas and message forums. Please note that the information and data that you disclose in any of these areas and forums are likely to become public information. TAATU therefore recommends that you take all the necessary precautions when you disseminate information, and in particular with regard to any information that is revealed to persons whom you do not yet know.
We wish to draw your attention to the fact that we can monitor and record your conversations and the data related to your behaviour on the Site for security purposes and to check your compliance with the General Conditions of Use.
5. Security
TAATU aims to protect your Personal Data and to maintain the quality thereof. TAATU will do everything that is reasonably in its power to take the technical and organisational measures and precautions that are essential to secure your Personal Data and to protect them from any unauthorised access, use or modification and against any unwarranted destruction. We will therefore store the personal information that you supply to us on computer systems with limited access installed in controlled premises.
6. Adolescents
TAATU does not solicit or knowingly collect Personal Data provided by adolescents or relating to adolescents (persons under 18 years of age) without the consent of a parent or a guardian and does not knowingly market its products and its services among adolescents.
If TAATU discovers that a person who submits Personal Data through part of the TAATU website is an adolescent and that the prior agreement of a parent had not first been obtained, TAATU will do everything that is reasonably in its power to ensure that these Personal Data are removed from its files as promptly as possible. TAATU will also do everything that is reasonably possible to make sure that these Personal Data are not used for any purposes whatsoever or communicated to third parties.
If a parent makes a request to examine or remove data concerning their child before TAATU has established the fact and removed the data, it goes without saying that we will comply with this request. To this end, we will invite the parents to contact us by e-mail (support.fr@taatu.com) and to send us any questions that they may have on our activities or on the protection of privacy on this website.
7. Cookies
The present website uses cookies. A “cookie” is a small data file that is stored on your hard drive, and not on our site, which enables us to provide you with information tailored to your individual preferences. Some of our services are available only by using a cookie. Cookies can also be used to improve security on the site or for identification purposes. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or to infect your computer with viruses. The code used in the cookie provides a means of recognising the PC when you next visit the site.
Most cookies function only during the time of one single session or visit. No cookies contain personal information that may be recovered by a hacker for direct marketing purposes.
In addition, cookies can be placed on certain pages by third parties. For example, if you consult a page created by another user, it is possible that a cookie has been inserted in this page. We do not exercise any control on the use of cookies by third parties.
You can of course refuse the cookie if your browser permits, but in this case some of our services will not be accessible to you and you must therefore enter your password more often during a session.
8. Transfer of data and subsequent processing
With your agreement, TAATU reserves the right to supply non-personal information about you to other companies. We never share the personal information received from adolescents under 18 years of age with companies that are not affiliated to TAATU, except for the cases cited in this information.
In special circumstances, TAATU can authorise other companies to access its database, but only as part of maintenance services (of the database or of a server) or security services or if they help us process requests or provide similar services. When TAATU authorises access to its database, we require that these companies sign a confidentiality agreement whereby they undertake not to reveal any of the information communicated.
If TAATU has reasons to believe that the behaviour of a user may harm TAATU, its sites or any other person, we reserve the right to communicate the appropriate personal information to prevent any damage. In this case, we will endeavour to identify the infringer in order to contact him or take legal action, where necessary. We also reserve the right to disclose personal information when its disclosure is required by law or to comply with an injunction.
If TAATU S.A. is the subject of (i) the transfer of all or part of its assets or (ii) an acquisition of a shareholding by a third party, your Personal Data may be disclosed to the potential purchasers of these assets or of this acquisition, as well as to their lawyers.
9. Right to inspection
Under the terms of the law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy, as amended by the law of 11 December 1998, you have the right to access your data, to modify them and to consult the Register of the Commission de la protection de la vie privée (Privacy Commission).
If you wish to access, correct, modify or update your Personal Data stored in a TAATU database, you can contact us at the address given below by e-mail, fax, telephone or normal mail. For reasons of privacy protection, you will be requested to supply proof of your identity.
You can also, upon simple request, receive an explanation concerning the processing of your Personal Data and obtain confirmation that all the parties concerned have been informed of your requests for information or, according to the case, modification or cancellation. TAATU will do everything in its power to comply with your requirements.

Although TAATU endeavours to provide you with links only to sites that share the high standards of protection applied by TAATU and that respect privacy, we are not responsible for the practices as regards content, security or confidentiality applied by the sites or external resources that are connected to the present site by links or that are accessed via the present site or that contain links to the present website. TAATU expressly declines all liability arising from the use of these other sites or of the content found therein.
